Admiral has done about everything a horse can do! From the wide open spaces of Wyoming, to the bright lights of major rodeos, to quiet buggy drives to church, Admiral has it on his resume.

A truly sweet personality, smooth as glass lope and all that experience is wrapped up in a unique, beautiful package.

As a ranch horse he has spent two years as the main mount to calve on, rope and doctor big cattle in bigger country and gather herds. I rode him to open gates on pipe to irrigate the pasture.

For fun we threw an english saddle on him and it was a delight.

Admiral has been ridden by a variety of judges at PRCA rodeos. This summer when a steer ran under his rump and crashed into a gate, with a rope on him, Admiral took it all in stride. Under the bright lights, he stood by himself in the middle of an arena while several thousand people sang "Sweet Caroline".

In a harness I have driven him to church, drove the feed wagon to get hay to cows, drove him down a busy county road, and pulled a wagon while another horse was jumping on and off!

Ike Sankey grew up in Kansas where his father was a cutting horse trainer. He and his brother were starting and training horses almost as soon as they could walk. This early exposure embedded him with an inherent knowledge of horses that was to continue to be developed through his lifetime. Ike's interest quickly turned to rodeo where he qualified for the National Finals Rodeo 4 times. After his competition years he translated to the stock contracting end of the industry and went on to have horses qualify for the National Finals Rodeo for more than 30 consecutive years. Through those years, all the work on the ranch was done horseback and Ike continued to buy and sell horses. Today his focus is on producing quality horse sales, including Best of the West and Cowgirl Cadillacs.
