This gorgeous crossbred gelding has all the bone, substance, and eye appeal you could ever want in a horse. He is extremely well built and stout, made to tackle a full honest day's work on the ranch.

He has a huge foot and is 100% sound with the conformation to keep him that way for a long time. He has been used on a ranch out west and is familiar with all aspects of ranch work. From sorting, gathering, roping, doctoring, and branding he has done it all. Side passes and is a breeze to open and work gates while riding. He is very well broke to ride and has spent a lot of time in the arena as well.

This guy is fancy! He is a big stopper, with nice roll backs, lopes right off, neck reins and works off your legs. Cisco has spent lots of time out on the trails and is a solid trail horse. He loves going through water and will literally go, just about anywhere you ask him to. He will push his way right through thick brush and tackles steep hills with no issues. While he is an awesome match for the adventurous rider who likes to make their own way he is just as nice for the trail rider who wants to take it easy walking down the trails sticking to the path. He has spent many nights out camping and has no problem standing tied for however long you want him to.

He is not antsy or impatient, and settles right in the new places. Loads and hauls great, and you don't ever have to worry about him not eating or drinking while on the road. Whether you keep him in a stall or turned out in the pasture, Cisco doesn't mind, and has no vices or bad habits. He gets along great with other horses.

Francisco has an amazing personality and disposition. He is friendly and personable at the same time as being very respectful and well mannered. The time spent out on the ranch has given him an excellent foundation and work ethic plus the time at home on the trails and in the our busy barn environment has truly made him quite the outstanding versatile horse. Francisco is a huge asset to any working ranch, and any trail rider is going to hit the jackpot with him.

Howdy! I am Scotty Nicks, a lifelong Hoosier Horseman. I would like to thank the Best Of The West team and Ike Sankey for accepting my consignments to their prestigious sale.
Since I was eight, I have never been without a horse or a pony. I grew up showing contest horses. I tell people “I ran barrel horses till I got bigger than the barrel”. My three children also did all the contesting events and were very active in 4-H. My girlfriend showed Appaloosas and was the 1996-1997 Miss Appaloosa America. I also competed in roping, western pleasure, reining, and team penning.
I owned the International Team Penning Journal Magazine for several years and centered my time with putting on team pennings, selling penning horses, supplying cattle, and giving clinics.
I have always been interested in the racehorse industry so I became a thoroughbred and quarter horse trainer. I collected 31 firsts, 42 seconds, and 44 thirds in just a few seasons while owning Heart of Kentucky Trailer Sales in Shepherdsville, KY selling new and used aluminum horse trailers.
After being in the horse business for over forty years, I have learned a lot and figured out what horses will be best for people with and without experience.
I hope you will be more than satisfied with this group of horses and mule that I have selected. I am honored and excited to present them at this sale.
