2020 Draft-Cross Gelding

16.3 hh

Have you been looking for that horse that you can ride and drive and is very sweet to top it off? Well, we have the horse for you. Here is Hudson, a gorgeous, dark blue roan registered IDSHR draft cross four year old gelding that has wisdom beyond his years.

He has a great build to him where he is not too bulky but has the height that you would want for your longer legged riders. And boy is this guy smooth! He has the best little jog and a canter that will make you want to sit all day long.

He is that true “husband” safe horse or in other words, beginner safe horse for anyone to ride and enjoy. He came here and went through the program without making a fumble. He loves to learn new things and he absolutely loves to give you everything he has. He has the cutest little star on his forehead and the sweetest, kindest eye you will find.

He knows all of the tricks from laying down, sitting up, pushing a ball around and more. He rides so well bareback and bridleless and looks stunning under english tack. He has that great puppy dog personality that we all love in the draft crosses and he loves to be involved with whatever you are doing.

If you are not someone that rides every day, that is ok with him as he will still be that safe, smart horse whenever you choose to get him out to ride. He has been on lots of trail rides and will go through little creeks and deeper rivers. He will cross bridges and walk over logs and is not afraid to be ridden in traffic no matter what trucks or motorized vehicles are going down the road. He has been with lots of different types of farm animals and has seen wildlife on the trail. He will gladly ride off of the farm alone and does great with other riders as well.

He has had a lot of experience driving too and is easy to harness and hitch and take down the road with a steady trot. He is wearing shoes all around because of where we ride and he does great for the farrier and the vet. He has been kept inside and out and does not have any bad habits.

Buckeye Acres
My name is Duane Yoder. I started my journey in the horse industry in 1995 when I purchased my first pony. I spent an entire year devoted to training, riding, and teaching him fun tricks like laying down, sitting, and bowing. I sold him later that year; the feeling of providing a well trained, well behaved, horse was so rewarding that I felt I wanted to continue to share my gift. In 2007, I married my awesome wife Miriam, and we have been blessed with six incredible children (two daughters and four sons) that participate daily with the operation of the farm. What started as myself and a dream has become the full time commitment of my family, and six employees. The opportunity to share our horsemanship has been so rewarding. In kind, we have been so blessed to learn from professional experts and knowledgeable friends that have voluntarily poured into us their invaluable years of knowledge.
