2017 AQHA Gelding

Nova is as stunning as his him name suggests! This buckskin gelding is the kind of horse that turns heads everywhere he goes — a rare blend of eye-catching beauty, flawless training, and the kind of gentle, steady-minded nature every family dreams of owning. A true finished ranch horse, he’s done every job on the place with confidence and class: gathering big country, sorting pairs, doctoring outside cattle, and dragging calves to the branding fire. He stays soft and willing, whether he’s working hard or carrying the youngest riders on a slow, safe trail ride. Horses with his combination of talent and temperament are few and far between. Nova is also a finished head horse. He has been roped on from the number 10 down. He’s super solid in the box scores good and has an exceptional move. Nova is super solid and would fit a youth roper that’s wanting to learn and be competitive or anyone that need a very smooth solid horse.
With a strong reining foundation, he rides with precision and style — smooth, easy lead departures, balanced circles, correct spins, and a big, effortless sliding stop. He is a GORGEOUS mover, easy jog, smooth long trot, and effortlessly lopes around and changes leads when asked. He is so light and easy to guide that he just fits every kind of rider we put on him. He would shine as a show horse and be a very competitive Versatility Ranch Horse for a youth rider wanting a partner they can trust both in and out of the arena. His perfect confirmation, rich color, and kind expression make him as photogenic as he is dependable. Nova crosses water and logs with ease and is slow and steady traveling up and down rocky hills and steep inclines. He’s always careful with his foot fall and never gets his rider in a bind.
Nova has also been rode English by our 8 yr old daughter Saylor, she’s taken him over small jumps and like everything else he does it’s natural for him. This talented gelding has also been used in parades carrying the flag and is quiet around all the traffic, fireworks, gun fire and dogs that goes with it. When we go out for a trail ride we are always accompanied by a handful of dogs and Nova is quiet as can be.
