2021 Gelding

15.2 hh

Relic is that rare, jaw-dropping combination of refinement, athleticism, and softness.

Relic is a responsive, fluid mover with just enough sensitivity to offer a ride full of connection, confidence, and effortless finesse with a graceful, uphill frame, Relic is a standout across the board — from his conformation and color to his talent and trainability.
He has a deep well of athletic potential with movement that is expressive, elastic, and correct. He’s brave to fences, confident across terrain, and well-schooled both in and out of the arena. He has extensive lateral and foundational work: leg yields, haunches in, shoulder in, half pass, soft transitions, beautiful lead changes and more. He has correct pivots, sidepasses, and a great stop.

He has been ridden and enjoyed by riders of all levels. Relic rides bridleless, neck reins, direct reins, and moves beautifully off seat and leg cues. He has been shown in western dressage, jumped cross-country courses and been put to work on the ranch but has the versatility to go in nearly any direction. What sets him apart is his balance — both in body and mind. He has the heart and motor to go far in the show ring but is equally content hanging out and being doted on, ponying horses, pushing cattle, or covering ground on a trail ride. He has been exposed to all sorts of farm life, including goats, cows, sheep, miniature horses, and dogs, as well as farm equipment, road traffic. He can also navigate any obstacle thrown his way; pedestals, teeter totter, tarps, gunfire, etc. He is soft and responsive both to the leg and the bit, and he loves to work. Often, he will come running and whinnying from the pasture just to be given attention in any little way he can– he truly enjoys spending time with his person. Which makes him a fantastic liberty horse as well! He even knows a few tricks including a bow and Spanish walk to make groundwork more fun.

On the trails, Relic is confident and enjoys exploring new terrain. He rides out alone or in groups without issue. Water crossings, working gates, riding over bridges, and is willing to take the load or follow other horses. Easy to haul and trailer and loves exploring new environments. On the ground, Relic is a sweetheart. Gentle, affectionate, and puppy-like, he adores attention and loves to be groomed and messed with. He lives peacefully in a mixed herd, stands quietly for the vet, farrier, tacking and bathing. He is barefoot and sound with no maintenance required.
Relic is a future star with a heart to match his talent — ideal for a rider who wants a responsive, educated, and endlessly enjoyable partner to build a lifelong bond with.
