2020 Gypsy Cross Mare

Sakara is more than a dream horse — she’s a soulmate in equine form. With her fairytale looks, this Gypsy Vanner x Quarter Horse mare is one of those rare hearts you come across once in a lifetime. She doesn’t just perform — she partners. Devoted, willing, and remarkably talented, Sakara is the kind of horse who will give you everything — every ride, every moment, every time.
She’s built to last and bred to impress — equally happy navigating rugged terrain as she is showing off in a dressage ring. Sakara is well-traveled and seasoned, having seen the backcountry out West, the inside of a dressage arena, ranch work, liberty performances, cross-country courses, and much more. She’s mastered liberty work and knows several impressive cues: lay down, sit, Spanish walk, rear, bow, piaffe, mirroring work, school halt, and more — because she loves the connection and thrives on the trust she builds. She's calm and safe for a variety of riders, and will go to the end of the earth for her partner. For someone who wants deep connection, immense try, and a willing heart in a compact powerhouse — Sakara is it.
Sakara is equally confident solo or in a group, trail-tested, road safe, event-experienced and she is as sure footed as they come over all kinds of terrain. She has been ridden by both youth and adults and has a skill set that both beginner and advanced riders can enjoy. She is patient and kind for anyone who gets to ride her despite her extensive knowledge. She has a nice haunches in, shoulder in, leg yields, half pass, sidepassing, great stops, and smooth, correct pivots, making her a true joy to ride. She is the true definition of an all-around horse. From the everyday commotion of a farm including goats, cows, sheep, dogs, machinery, road traffic and ponying horses, she is well versed and works well together with her rider. She is no stranger to tarps, teeter-totters, pedestals, air dancers, working gates or other obstacles. Not only is she always up for the challenge, she will willingly conquer all of that in nothing but a neck rope riding well off seat and leg. She rides fantastic in a snaffle bit, curb bit, or halter as well and is more than willing to neck rein or direct rein. Sakara has a great ground tie, stands beautifully for farrier, vet, body clipping, grooming, bathing and tacking. She’s always been sound barefoot and is currently kept out in a herd setting but is happy to be stalled as well.
This mare isn’t just safe and broke — she’s special. The kind of horse that people search for and rarely find. Sakara is ready to find a home with someone who will love her the way she loves them: completely. We are proud to offer this one-in-a-million mare to her forever home.
