2017 Draft Cross Gelding

15.3 hh

Every once in a great while, a horse shows up that simply checks every box — one with presence, purpose, and a heart so pure it stops you in your tracks. Zeus is that horse.

Zeus carries himself with the kind of quiet confidence you can’t teach — it’s just in him. His striking color and strong build may catch your eye, but it’s his kind, steady spirit that stays with you long after you’ve left the barn.

Zeus is the definition of versatility. He’s explored rugged trails, pasture-roped cattle, worked in the arena, and accompanied hunters through woods and fields. He’s well-acclimated to both Western and English riding, and he drives like a dream — comfortable and confident in harness. He moves beautifully: picking up his leads, side-passing to open gates, backing with ease, and responding softly to your cues. Whether you're an advanced rider or just getting started, Zeus meets you where you are. He’s the kind of confidence builder every rider deserves.

He’s seasoned in the best way — not just from experience, but from heart. Time off doesn’t rattle him. He remains the same steady partner every time you swing a leg over. He’s been exposed to cattle, dogs, wildlife, traffic, farm equipment, gunfire, and more — and handles it all with a calm mind and willing attitude.

Whether you're winding through creeks and brush, opening a gate from the saddle, or just enjoying a quiet lope in the arena, Zeus brings a peaceful rhythm to every ride. He’s happy to head out alone or ride anywhere in the group — leading, following, or floating in the middle with patience and grace.

And when the ride is over, he’s just as special on the ground. Zeus is respectful, affectionate, and endlessly patient. He ties, grooms, bathes, tacks up, stands for the farrier, loads, and hauls with zero fuss — and always greets you at the gate like he’s been waiting just for you.

Zeus isn’t just another good horse. He’s the kind of horse that becomes part of your family — the one you measure all the others by. Horses like him don’t come around often… and when they do, they leave a mark on your heart forever.

Cassy Dameron, owner and trainer at Lucky D Ranch, has spent a lifetime in the saddle. Born with a passion for horses, she was riding before she could walk and quickly found her stride in the rodeo world, competing in barrel racing from a young age. Her early years on the circuit instilled a strong work ethic, deep horsemanship, and an unwavering belief in the power of a true connection between horse and rider.

After a successful career in corporate banking and raising four incredible children, Cassy returned to her lifelong passion—this time with a clear mission: to build a family-run program rooted in trust, honesty, and the belief that the right horse can truly change someone’s life.

At Lucky D Ranch, located in the rolling hills of Marble Hill, Missouri, Cassy and her family specialize in seasoned, gentle trail and family horses, many of which are versatile enough to cross into the performance arena. Each horse undergoes a thorough program designed to build confidence in a wide range of real-world environments. The result is a thoughtfully matched equine partner that’s ready for anything—from weekend trail rides to lifelong companionship.

Cassy’s greatest reward comes from helping riders find the perfect horse to fit their lifestyle, experience, and dreams. Lucky D Ranch is more than a training facility—it’s a labor of love, built by a horsewoman who understands that for many, a horse isn’t just a ride—it’s family.
