2019 AQHA Gelding

15.1 hh

"Macho," Macho Man! With beauty and brawn to boot, this gelding is everything you’ve been dreaming of. Smooth as glass, sweet as pie — oh my, my! He’s not only handsome but also confident, kind, and built to last. He’s the kind that turns heads and wins hearts.

Built Like a Tank — Rides Like a Dream
Standing 15.1 hands tall and weighing 1,400 lbs, with great bone and foot, Macho is the definition of sturdy and sound. But don’t let his size fool you — this horse is athletic, agile, and sure-footed, with the movement you usually only see in lighter-framed horses. Best of all, he’s laid back and easy to handle. There’s no “hot” or “silly” behavior here — just a big-hearted gelding who wants to please.

Versatile & Ready for Anything
If you’ve been searching for a true all-around horse, this is your guy. Macho is equally at home in the show pen, out on the trail, or working cattle in the field. He’s dabbled in reining, pushed cows, navigated traffic, and explored open country. He’s confident in new environments, adaptable to whatever you throw his way, and always willing to try something new. We’ve tested him in every setting, and he’s passed with flying colors.

A Luxury Ride & Great Handle!
Riding Macho is like driving a well-oiled machine. He offers flawless flying lead changes, effortless transitions, and a reliable “brake pedal” anytime you need it. He’s a push-style horse, meaning he won’t go unless asked, but you don’t have to pedal him to keep moving either. His natural rhythm and balance give him one of the best cruise controls we’ve ever had. On the ground, he’s polite and respectful — never pushy but always friendly. He waits to be invited into your space and is easy for grooming, deworming, and standing for the farrier.

Show Proven with a Calm Mind
As his third owners, we were proud to take him to his very first show — and you would’ve thought he’d been doing it his whole life. With Wyatt in the saddle, Macho earned Reserve High Point Youth Ranch Horse, navigating patterns and rail work like a seasoned competitor. Even with thunder and lightning outside, he stayed cool, calm, and completely focused. His ability to handle pressure while staying kind and steady is one of his most impressive traits.

Trail, Travel & Time Off Approved
Macho hauls easily, ties like a gentleman, and handles bathing, clipping, and stalling with zero drama. He can be turned out with other horses or kept in a stall — either way, he stays quiet and happy. He handles time off without needing to be lunged or worked down. Whether it’s his first ride back or his fiftieth, he shows up ready to go to work. He’s also the first to meet you at the gate and always eager to please.

The Kind You Fall For
With his kind eyes, calm demeanor, and unique dun coloring, Macho is impossible to ignore. His full black mane and thick, multicolored tail add to the appeal, but it’s his heart that really stands out. He’s the definition of a “Good Ol’ Boy” — the kind of horse who just gets better the more time you spend with him.

A lifelong dedication to building reliable, family-friendly horses has been a driving force for Megan and Andy, and this tradition is now being carried on by their daughter, Teagan and son, Wyatt.

Their sincere connections with both their horses and their customers are evident in everything they do.

Megan and  Andy, are excited to see their children, Wyatt (12) and Teagan (10), share the same passion for horses. Together, the family owns and operates Hansen Performance Horses, where they focus on  training well-rounded horses. Their horses are exposed to a variety of disciplines, from team roping to trail riding, ranching, and even jumping. It’s also common for them to compete at ranch horse shows, where Teagan proudly won her first buckle!

The Hansen family are committed to understanding each horse's unique strengths and personality. Through individualized training, they ensure that every horse is represented honestly and matched with the right person.
