Jared-Meyer-Headshot-1

Jared Meyer Performance Horses was built on a foundation three generations deep in horsemanship. Jared’s love for horses began before he could walk, riding in front of his grandpa, Merlin Meyer, with his father, Denny, close by. Both men were pillars of the local horse community—raising, training, and showing horses while passing down the values of good stock, honest work, and treating horses like family.
Growing up in Bernard, Iowa, Jared was immersed in the western lifestyle. Countless fun shows, rodeos, and sales shaped his skills and appreciation for versatile, well-broke horses. In high school, Jared and his brother Joel competed in Saddle Bronc with the Wisconsin High School Rodeo Association, carrying that competitive drive into college at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, WY. There, Jared earned his degree in Equine Management and Training while competing successfully on the rodeo team.
After college, Jared returned home to train and market horses alongside Joel on the family ranch. In 2020, he launched Jared Meyer Performance Horses with a clear mission: to offer high-quality western performance horses that are also safe, dependable, and enjoyable for the whole family.
Today, Jared trains his own string of ranch, roping, and trail horses, and is an active PRCA team roper, heading at rodeos across the country. He also manages a broodmare band on the 35-acre pasture behind the home farm, ensuring the next generation of horses continues the Meyer family legacy—blending performance, versatility, and a temperament anyone can trust.
