Meet Pop Tart – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Pony

Pop Tart is the ultimate beginner-safe pony, but to us, he’s been so much more—he’s been a trusted member of our family for years. Standing just 38 inches tall, this gelding is packed full of heart, kindness, and patience. His personality is second to none: he adores his kiddos, has perfect manners, and yet always craves their attention. Pop Tart will meet you at the gate every single day, ready for an adventure. It’s no surprise to find this pony in the house, on the porch, or tagging along on a trail ride to the neighbors’ after school. Our children drag him everywhere—he’s been the steady babysitter, the playmate, and the best friend every parent dreams of for their kids.

Pop Tart isn’t only safe—he’s special. He has taught our youngest how to ride, carried toddlers across the pasture without a worry, and given countless kids confidence both in and out of the saddle. He’s smooth, forgiving, and so incredibly broke. The kids have ridden him single, double, and bareback—it doesn’t matter to him. He takes it all in stride with the same patience and kindness every single time. He will walk, trot, and lope with ease, has a buttery-soft mouth for even the tiniest hands to steer, and he stops like a big horse whether you ride him one-handed or two. He even drives beautifully in a small cart, making him versatile and fun. He knows tricks like laying down, sitting, and playing with the ball, and he’s even been shot off of. He crosses water, logs, bridges, and busy roads without a second thought. Around cattle, he’s steady and reliable—tracking slow calves, pulling the dummy, or simply standing quietly while the bigger horses do their jobs. Townes ropes the sled on him almost every day, and Pop Tart never gets rattled. His patience will absolutely blow your mind.

Pop Tart has always been the one we can count on—whether it was letting our two-year-old sit on him by the chute during evening ropings, or now teaching that same child as a  four-year-old how to ride and be a horseman and giving him a partner to truly have fun and be independent with. He has traveled all over the country with us and never misses a beat. He stays gentle with time off, never gets fresh, and is as close to bombproof as you’ll ever find. Loud noises, dogs, fireworks, chaos, or commotion don’t bother him—he simply stays quiet, steady, and kind.

Ponies like Pop Tart are truly rare. He is more of a lifelong friend and family member than a pony. In every way, he is complete perfection in the pony world. We are confident he will bring another family just as much joy, laughter, and peace of mind as he has brought to ours.
