Standing 16 hands, this striking 7-year-old blue roan Percheron, Quarter Horse gelding is every bit as breathtaking as his reputation. His flowing mane and tail, kind brown eyes, solid build, and unmistakable presence make him impossible to overlook. Yet it is his gentle nature that captivates people most.
Sasquatch is the definition of versatility. He rides beautifully English, western, bareback, or even bridleless with the same quiet willingness. Whether you're riding alone, in a large group, exploring unfamiliar country, or working in the arena, he approaches every ride with confidence and composure. His gaits are smooth, his steering is effortless, and his responsiveness is beautifully balanced—never dull, never overreactive. He has an exceptional ability to meet each rider where they are, making a novice feel secure while still offering the refinement an experienced horseman appreciates.
His talents don't stop under saddle. Sasquatch is equally accomplished in harness, driving with the same elegance and reliability that defines everything he does. Few sights are more impressive than watching him confidently pull a carriage through town, turning heads everywhere he goes.
If there is one place Sasquatch truly thrives, it's on the trail. Calling him surefooted almost feels like an understatement. Fallen timber, steep terrain, rocky climbs, rushing streams, dense timber, and unexpected wildlife are all taken in stride. He willingly separates from the group without hesitation and navigates obstacles with the quiet determination of a horse who will always find a safe way through.
That same dependable mindset made him invaluable this spring on Montana ranches during branding season. Amid bawling calves, protective mother cows, ropes swinging, and nonstop activity, Sasquatch remained calm, steady, and remarkably graceful. It didn't take long before he became everyone's favorite—everyone in our family knew we could count on him. Along with being a trusted mount in the branding pen, Wyatt throughly enjoyed going shed hunting on him, he seemed to sniff out the very best elk antlers!
The show environment proved no different. New facilities, loudspeakers, banners, strollers, bustling crowds, and horses of every breed and discipline never rattled him. He unloaded, settled in, and carried himself as though he'd been there his entire life, quietly earning admirers everywhere he went. Not to mention... his smooth gaits came in pretty handy during the egg & spoon class!
His exceptional disposition extends well beyond riding. He also knows the basics in liberty! Plus, Sasquatch is equally content living in a stall, turned out with companions, or kept by himself. He is patient for clipping, bathing, braiding, shoeing, deworming, vaccinations, hauling, and every aspect of routine care. In many ways, he seems to possess more human qualities than equine ones—always thoughtful, always kind, and always eager to be with you.
We realize horses like Sasquatch are extraordinarily difficult to find. The combination of beauty, versatility, confidence, kindness, and unwavering dependability is something that cannot be manufactured; it can only be appreciated when you experience it for yourself.
