Waylon has been ridden western, English, and bareback, and he also drives, making him just as enjoyable for an evening carriage ride as he is for a day on the trail.

Whether you are riding in the indoor arena, outdoor arena, or exploring unfamiliar places, Waylon takes everything in stride with a calm, confident attitude. He has smooth, comfortable gaits with an easy walk, a nice trot, and a soft, enjoyable canter that you can ride all day.

With his athletic ability, size, and willing disposition, we also think he has the potential to excel as a fox hunting prospect. He has logged countless miles on the trails, traveling through the woods, open fields, up and down steep hills, over logs, through creeks and water crossings, and on both small country roads and busy state roads in traffic.

New places and new experiences never seem to bother him—he simply goes wherever you point him without missing a beat. Around the farm, Waylon has been used to check cows and ride fence lines, proving he is as practical as he is enjoyable.

He is happy riding alone or with a group and is comfortable leading, following, or riding in the middle. No matter where you place him, he is content to go along and simply wants to be your partner. One of the things we appreciate most about Waylon is that he does not need to be ridden every day to stay the same horse.

Give him time off, saddle him up, and he is ready to go right back to work. In the barn, Waylon is a true gentleman. He is the first to meet you at the gate, easy to catch, stands quietly for grooming, saddling, bathing, and the farrier, and is respectful to handle. He gets along well in the pasture whether turned out by himself or with other horses.

As part of our Buckeye Acre Farm training program, Waylon has been exposed to many real-world situations. He is comfortable with tarps, jugs, and whips, and he also lays down and sits up on cue, adding another level of training and trust to an already outstanding horse.
