Western, English, Bareback, Bridleless, or at liberty - Wingnut stays true to his willingness to partner with you in work or play. If you ride one handed neck reining, two handed in a snaffle, or no hands and just with your seat and legs….he gets the job done. Whether he has been in every day or has sat for the month, he rides off as the same solid citizen.

It’s like he has this natural ability to meet riders where they are at in their horsemanship journey. Every ride with Wingnut is simply enjoyable and leaves everyone with a smile as Wingnut reaches his nose gently out for a pat or hug at the end.

A kind personality to match his incredibly kind eye, a steady soul that takes everything in stride, a stout build paired with his great conformation, and a smooth ride - this solid horse is “one of the good ones”.

Everyone who visits the farm and sees him is soon holding big cuddly head in their hands or having a ride on him. Wingnut instills confidence in those who are new to horses with his level-headedness, steady gait, and ease in guiding around.

He is the go to horse on the farm that we choose to pony the young colts around, do liberty off the ridden horse for beginners, go on bareback moonlit rides for night check on the farm, or just go for a trail ride. We are already trying to figure out how we will replace our right hand saddle horse when Wingnut goes to the sale.

If you’ve ever wanted a horse that is built with solid bone but doesn’t feel like a giant, Wingnut is your guy! At 15.1 hands he is easy to step up on, but also sidepasses over to the mounting block, rail, log, or anything you stand on to make it a piece of cake to mount. He truly embodies what draft horses are so loved for - their calm, steady nature.

At 5 years old, yet born with an old soul, he can be yours for years to make a lifetime of memories with. Wingnut thrives in his work, soaks up attention, and brings joy to those who meet him.

We are thankful to have this horse in our program who is safe, solid, and steady, on top of being versatile and very kind. Wingnut so clearly represents who we are, and we are proud to offer him from our program.
